🌟 Excited to share the incredible journey of one of our amazing FCA Huddle Leaders, Deb Larson! She first attended an FCA camp in Pella, Iowa 45 years ago and had the joy of experiencing it again just last week! Here's what she had to say: 45 years ago this summer I attended my first FCA Camp as a high school volleyball coach to learn some X’s and O’s in my sport but I left with SO much more. My life was forever changed as I realized that I had been “religious” without really knowing how to have a personal walk with Jesus. My Bible came off the shelf and I began to read it and apply it to my life! FCA Camp was the game changer in my life. It’s such a privilege to still be a part of this ministry and share this experience with our student athletes . This was the 25th anniversary of this Camp in Pella Iowa. Extra special was having our student Pastor, Toshaun Avery from our church serve as the chaplain. Here are some highlights of our week!! 🔥The largest camp in the 25 years of this camp. Had to hold the evening times off campus to accommodate the numbers! ⚽Athletes from our FCA huddle that were in the sports of basketball, cross country, track, baseball and soccer ❤️Huddle leaders: each of these young people had a group of 8-10 high school athletes that they led both on and off the court/field ➡Dave Turnball, Camp director for all 25 years and Al Engebretson who was one of our basketball coaches for many years came over the the 25th camp! #fca #fcacamp #fcahuddleleader #fca247

JoCo area rep, Jodie, went on a mission trip to a village in Rwanda with the K-State women’s basketball team! They built a basketball court and held an FCA camp which was attended by 200 kids! Wednesday Word from FCA's Daily Impact Play: It has been proven that even identical twins have different DNAs. If that is the case, what is God telling us about our uniqueness? I believe He is telling us to be different, not to conform to the world’s standards, to be in the world but not of the world. I know this is hard and seems to be a paradox, especially in a world where we are told to be a team player—not an individual—or to play, coach, or live for our own agendas. God does expect us to be a team player, yet He calls us to be different at the same time. In football, everyone wears the same uniform, yet has different responsibilities. We are the Body of Christ, one team, united under the blood-stained banner, yet all with diverse responsibilities and gifts. 1 Peter 2:9 gives us guidance on daring to be different. As we read that passage, we see that we are all on one team—in the world but not of the world—and that we are called to be different. God’s guidance on being different includes: Selected: God chose you to be different from everyone else. Servant: God called you to service. Sanctified: God set you apart for an eternal purpose. Register to join FCA's Women’s Summer Lacrosse League on Monday nights! We are looking for women 18 years or older at any level. The game format will be sixes. We will provide the pinnie, but you will need to provide your own equipment. The cost per athlete is $60. You can register to play as a team or as a free agent and we will place you on a team. If you want to play as a team, indicate your team name in the respective field during registration. Teams will have a max of 12 players, including a goalie. After games each week, we will hold a short time for a huddle to bond and connect off the field.
